Melissa Scott is a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) with deep roots in the Pocatello community and more than a decade of experience in mental health care. After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s in Counseling with an emphasis in Mental Health at Idaho State University, Melissa dedicated her career to helping clients of all ages navigate life’s emotional challenges.
Melissa’s primary approach centers on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while integrating Play Therapy, Solution‑Focused Therapy, Choice Theory, and strength‑based counseling strategies. Her experience spans work with children, adolescents, and adults, especially within both children’s and adult mental health systems, serving clients dealing with depressive disorders, anxiety, PTSD/trauma, emotional regulation concerns, anger management, relationship challenges, bipolar disorder, self‑esteem issues, behavioral disorders, and psychotic spectrum conditions such as schizophrenia.
Melissa’s therapeutic approach is empathetic, collaborative, and tailored to the unique strengths of each client. She values building trust, promoting self‑awareness, and guiding individuals toward meaningful and sustainable change. When she’s not counseling, Melissa enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband and two children, including hiking, camping, and canoeing.
